Summer Internship Program
The summer internship program is a full-time program for law students that begins in late May and ends during the first week of August. On-campus interviews, either in person or virtual, are held in the fall at many North Carolina law schools. North Carolina students should first check with their career services office before sending application materials directly to the District Attorney’s Office. If we are conducting interviews on your campus, do not send a separate application; please apply through your career services office’s online system.

The office hires interns who will have completed two years of law school when they begin their summer internship with us. Interns will be certified by the NC Bar under the Practical Training of Law Students rules.

Our internship program is a full-time summer program. "Split summers" are not permitted.

To apply, submit one application packet that includes your cover letter, resume, transcript (an unofficial version is acceptable), and any other materials that you wish to have considered. Please send your packet to Mecklenburg.SummerRecruitment@nccourts.org.
