Legal Assistant
Individuals interested in employment as a legal assistant should visit this website: http://www.osp.state.nc.us/jobs/ Applications must be submitted by following the specific instructions provided with each job listing.  Please note that legal assistant jobs are not always available and listings will only appear when applications are being accepted for an open position. Be sure that the job listing specifies "Mecklenburg County" if you wish to apply to our office.

Intern (Summer)
Program Background: The summer internship program is a full-time program, usually beginning at the end of May and ending during the first week of August. On-campus interviews are held, in the fall, at many N.C. law schools. Students attending a law school in N.C. should first check with their career services office before sending application materials directly to us.  If we are conducting interviews on your campus, do not send separate application; please apply through your career services’ online system.

We hire interns who will have completed two years of law school when they begin their summer internship with us. We do not hire high school students, college students, or first-year law students.

Application Instructions: Submit one application packet that includes your cover letter, resume, transcript (an unofficial copy is acceptable), and any other materials that you wish to have considered. Address your one application packet as shown below:

Attn: David Kelly / Regina Hinson

Extern (Fall or Spring)
Program Background: Law school students interested in an unpaid externship through their law school’s academic program during the fall or spring semesters should first contact the designated coordinator at their law school. Externs usually work a pre-determined number of hours per week and earn academic credit through their school. Due to its close proximity, our externs are usually students of the Charlotte School of Law (CSL), but our office will consider applicants from any law school.

Application Instructions: CSL students must contact Prof. Grossman; CSL students should not contact us directly or send application materials directly to us. All CSL applications are processed through Prof. Grossman. Students of all other law schools should mail one application packet that includes a cover letter, resume, and transcript (an unofficial version is acceptable). Address your one application packet as shown below:
